Bought one new thing today: sponges for washing the dishes. I could have cut up old rags and I debated doing this but I so much prefer having sponges with a rough side for dishes. Oh well. Day Three and we have one slip.

On the positive side Joel called me from the Apple store in NYC; he was surrounded by new (very entrancing, shiny, stylish, and beautiful) ipads. But he didn't buy one despite the fact that he had fifty clever rationales for why it didn't really count in the terms of "no-more-new-things."
